Our Story

RAMP was founded by Cheryl Beattie, Richard Harris, and Pam Sheyne. Together they witnessed the same challenges time and again; talented local artists with vision, drive, and potential to succeed internationally, but no clear roadmap to get there.

Having built successful careers as songwriters, producers, artist developers, and music entrepreneurs, the founders understand firsthand what it takes to break beyond geographical boundaries. Collectively, they have written and produced hit records, developed emerging artists, secured major publishing deals, and built global networks. Yet each of them faced the same reality, navigating an often complex and unpredictable music business, far from home.

Those experiences inspired a shared mission, to make the path clearer for the next generation of artists. RAMP exists to bridge the gap between local talent and global opportunity. Drawing on decades of industry experience and international relationships, the company provides emerging artists with the knowledge, mentorship, and strategic guidance needed to build sustainable careers and compete on the world stage.

About Us

Cheryl Beattie

Cheryl Beattie is a singer songwriter and founder of The Music Industry School in Melbourne. Cheryl’s music journey took her from the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne to New York where she was signed to BMG records as an artist.  She collaborated with industry legends Billy Steinberg, Tom Kelly and Shannon Rubicam who wrote for artists including Madonna, Whitney Houston, The Bangles, and Cindy Lauper among many others. Cheryl moved to London where she recorded with Sting’s band, had a #1 dance hit with her song Fly and spent many years building a network of collaborators and industry connections.  She gained a wealth of experience as an artist, songwriter and session singer in her 11 years of living in London and New York. She returned to Australia in the year 2000 and was inspired to start teaching singing and songwriting. Cheryl decided to build a music school in her local area as there was much need for it in her community. Her school not only teaches music and voice lessons, but it nurtures individual growth and develops young artists with an international dream.
